As the 2025 Academic Plan calls for a diverse and inclusive network of campuses, we are investing all the necessary resources to enable our primary systems to store, process, and use students’ demographic/personal information to serve our global learners throughout global campuses and integrate global experiences into their learning, teaching, and research.
Global Campus System (GCS) Project, a collaborative initiative sponsored by Chancellor Dr. Ken Henderson and Vice Chancellor & Vice Provost Dr. Mary Ludden and led by the Registrar’s Office, Enrollment Management & Information Technology Services to evolve our key university systems and data structure to support our global learners on global campuses.
We have evolved university systems to capture Student demographic information, including citizenship status, relevant to their preferred campus and the country where our campus is located. This information captured is further distributed to over 22 downstream NU systems, including Banner. We have also added specific details that may be required on a per-country basis, including particular race, ethnicity, and passport information concerning the country where our campus is located.
These improvements will allow us to improve our student demographic data to help Northeastern’s growing global network while ensuring that we can enroll students seamlessly with a great pre-enrollment experience and provide continuous support to our students throughout their student lifecycle.
