English Language Proficiency Exam required. TOEFL = 100, IELTS = 7.5, or Duolingo = 125. *An exception can be made to the TOEFL/IELTS requirement if the student has received a Bachelor’s degree in a country where English is an official language. We do not accept Master’s degrees as TOEFL/IELTS waivers.

Industry-specific tracks
The program offers five specialization tracks, allowing students to gain domain-specific knowledge about AI’s implications, limitations, and uses in their discipline.
AI Applications for Business: Students will examine how AI empowers businesses to enhance competitiveness and integrates with business strategy. Students will leverage machine learning techniques like unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement learning and be able to recommend business solutions using AI.
By examining the intersection of managerial practices and AI capabilities through real-world case studies, students will have an opportunity to gain practical insights into implementation and ethical considerations to navigate the dynamic landscape of AI-driven business transformations.
AI Applications for Data Mining and Engineering: Students will learn data mining concepts and statistics/machine learning techniques for analyzing large data sets in engineering domains such as manufacturing, healthcare, sustainability, and energy. Drawing from data mining case studies, students will explore data reduction, data exploration, data visualization, concept description, mining association rules, classification, prediction, and clustering.
AI Applications for Education: Students will explore the historical, philosophical, and practical aspects of integrating AI into teaching, learning, and institutional contexts. They will learn to critically evaluate and effectively utilize AI technologies with diverse student populations to enhance learning outcomes in pre-K, K-12, and higher education contexts. The program will equip students with practical skills in using AI for research, administration, communication, and other professional aspects of education and leadership.
Students will also examine AI’s role in teacher education, its impact on students’ cognitive and social development, and its contributions to personalized and adaptive learning. They will navigate ethical considerations and policy implications for school districts, higher education institutions, and state educational agencies.
AI Applications for Health Sciences: Students will explore foundational concepts of AI and its applications in healthcare, public health, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences. The program covers the history of AI, common AI approaches, and state-of-the-art applications across the health sciences.
Students will learn to discern between AI’s capabilities and limitations while examining ethical and regulatory considerations. The program also includes hands-on experience in developing conceptual AI solutions for real-world health challenges.
AI Applications for Media Industries: Students will utilize AI tools to craft stories across various contexts, such as public relations, communications, advocacy, journalism, news, and strategic social media campaigns. They will develop competencies in generative AI tools encompassing text, images, and multimodal domains while experimenting with and evaluating diverse models and platforms. The program provides practical knowledge of tool functionalities, applies ethical frameworks to AI-driven media work, and examines the limitations and biases of generative AI models.
Collaborative projects with external media partners will enhance learning through real-world engagement, culminating in deliverables for clients. A consultancy model will support students in leveraging AI tools to develop stories that resonate with local communities and prototype innovative products and workflows to advance civic and enterprise objectives.
AI Applications for Policy and Regulation: Students will examine the rapidly evolving role of technology and artificial intelligence in public policy and the criminal legal system, learning tools to navigate this complex and critical field. Students will explore how AI intersects with legal processes and constitutional criminal procedure rules while gaining a foundational understanding of how these technologies work. Through a social science lens, the program analyzes the development, implementation, and societal effects of AI, preparing graduates to address legal and ethical challenges and shape innovative policies in a technology-driven world.
