Program overview

Start your career in digital media

For students considering a career change into digital media, this coursework will help you connect your current background to a new digital media track. Courses focus on visual communications, programming foundations, and web creation. Foundational courses provide intensive, hands-on guidance into the essential knowledge required for the MPS in Digital Media curriculum. After completing these, students move into the more advanced course requirements.

The MPS in Digital Media—Connect program is available to both international and domestic students. If you are a domestic student, you may also be eligible to apply to the MPS in Digital Media program. Please visit the MPS in Digital Media program page to learn more.

  • Change careers and break into the digital media industry without getting a second bachelor’s degree. Prospective students should note that there are 10 semester hours of required foundational coursework that should be completed in the first semester of the program.
  • Four foundation courses focus on visual communications, programming foundations, and web creation, helping you connect your current background to a new digital media track.
  • Complete an in-depth capstone experience working under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
  • Elective concentration options provide a specialized focus on distinctive areas of digital media, and optional digital media workshops are also available.
  • Cohort program format is designed to enhance collaboration and networking opportunities for students.

This program is appropriate for individuals with backgrounds in communications, graphic design, marketing, journalism, gaming, video, or science and technology.

An undergraduate degree is required. It is recommended that you enter the program with foundational knowledge of visual communications or programming (such as an undergraduate art or computer science course). However, introductory courses in both subjects are offered as part of the program for students with no formal experience.
