Program overview

Energize your career

The Master of Science in Energy Systems-Academic Link program focuses on the effective implementation of energy systems analysis and the integration of energy systems engineering technology with financial planning.

Students with first-year calculus, physics, and chemistry in their undergraduate studies but with no prior exposure to thermos-sciences may apply to this 40-credit academic path. The program’s core and elective courses will help to prepare students to lead projects centered on energy systems solutions and generating positive impacts on businesses and communities, both locally and globally.

In addition to their studies, students have the opportunity to participate in a six-month co-op experience.

  • Students from a non-STEM background are eligible for this program
  • This program meets F-1 international student status requirements
  • The Master of Science in Energy Systems can be combined with the Gordon Engineering Leadership certificate
  • Qualified students may participate in a co-op experience
  • Paid co-op positions can offset the cost of tuition for many students

Some of the most pressing global issues we face today are related to energy resources, conservation, and the effects of energy production and increasing worldwide demand. As a result, professionals with knowledge in the design and development of optimal methods to produce and utilize energy in ways that are both sustainable and marketable are currently—and will continue to be—in great demand.

Our curriculum is flexibly designed with a set of six core courses in engineering knowledge and finance and four electives that can be taken from any department within the College of Engineering.
