This program is offered under the written consent of the Minister effective March 3, 2023, having undergone a quality assessment process and been found to meet the criteria established by the Minister. Nevertheless, prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (for example, acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies, or other educational institutions).
The term “university” is used under the written consent of the Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills effective May 9, 2024, having undergone a quality assessment process and been found to meet the criteria established by the Minister.

- MSIS courses are interactive, conversational, and participatory in nature, in which students can take ownership of their learning experience in class through technical sessions and discussions that focus on business aspects and real-world cases.
- Students can personalize the curriculum to their career interests with numerous electives.
- The MSIS program at Northeastern has successfully placed a majority of students working at industry leaders, such as Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Oracle, and IBM, as well as companies large and small globally.

- IT managers
- Software and computer services account for more than 90% of Canada’s ICT sector. The ICT sector is characterized by a knowledge-intensive workforce, with over half of its workers holding a university degree, compared to 34.0% within all Canadian industries. The software and computer services sub-sector employs the largest proportion of university-educated workers within the ICT sector (65.2%) (ISED, 2021).
- British Columbia is expected to have over one million job openings between 2022 and 2032. Nearly 80% of these require some form of post-secondary education or training, and thousands of these job openings will be in high-opportunity occupations, which experience higher demand and higher pay compared to other occupations (information systems analysts, software engineers, computer and information systems managers, etc.) (WorkBC, 2022).
