The Graduate Certificate in Biodefense and Biosecurity is tailored for those seeking expertise in combating biosecurity threats. This program provides an in-depth study of the microbiology and epidemiology of potential biological threats, preparing students to identify, propose countermeasures, and develop strategic responses. It consists of three biotechnology courses and one public policy course, totaling 13 credits.

Designed for individuals with or without prior experience in biodefense, this certificate serves as a gateway to the MS in Biotechnology program, where all 13 credits may be applied. Graduates will be equipped with knowledge in both scientific and policy-based approaches to biodefense, paving the way for impactful careers in biotechnology and public health.

    • Degree earned or in progress at an institution where English is the only medium of instruction

    • Official exam scores from either the TOEFL iBT (institution code is 3682), IELTS, PTE exam, or Duolingo English Test. Scores are valid for 2 years from the test date.
