Khoury College of Computer Sciences
- Machine learning: Gain hands-on experience developing and applying advanced machine learning models to solve real-world problems across industries.
- Robotics and agent-based systems: Develop intelligent robots and autonomous agents, focusing on automation, interaction, and smart system design.
College of Engineering
- Computer vision: Apply AI and ML to advanced visual tasks, including image restoration, rendering, navigation, and pattern classification.
- Energy systems: Apply AI and ML to optimize energy grids, integrate renewable sources, and create smart, sustainable, and resilient systems.
- Continuous process engineering: Use AI and ML to enhance efficiency, predictive maintenance, and real-time decisions in industries like chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
- Bioengineering: Apply AI and ML to biological systems, medical diagnostics, drug discovery, and personalized medicine to develop innovative healthcare solutions and medical interventions.
- Sustainability for infrastructure and environment: Use AI and ML to optimize critical infrastructure, create resilient climate-adaptive systems, and advance sustainable material management in built and natural environments.
Bouvé College of Health Sciences
- Health data: Apply AI and ML to real-world health challenges, working with clinical, public health, and wellness data to build equitable and responsible health technologies.
- Full-time paid co-op or internship opportunities with partners like Amazon, Ford, Roche/Genentech, Goldman Sachs, U.S. Soccer Federation, and more

Include four to eight months of full-time paid AI work through co-ops or internships with one of our industry partners or your current employer. We offer partnerships with top tech companies, startups, nonprofits, and various companies across diverse industries.

GRE waiver*
Applicants are eligible to be considered for a GRE waiver if they have 10 or more years of relevant work experience. To apply for a GRE waiver, applicants may email their resumé to [email protected].

Additional admissions requirements:
Some programming experience
Applicants must have experience writing code in a high-level programming language (coding classes in undergrad or equivalent work experience as a programmer, software engineer, etc.).
Math background
Applicants must have at least one year of linear algebra (or discrete math, advanced calculus, etc.) and/or at least one year of high-level statistics.
Applicants need to meet the admissions requirements of the college to which they are admitted.
Applicants to all concentrations should demonstrate foundational mastery of quantitative reasoning and should have completed STEM coursework related to the degree.
Applicants considering the machine learning and robotics and autonomous systems concentrations within Khoury will need to demonstrate proficiency in programming.
Applicants to the computer vision, energy systems, or continuous process engineering concentrations within the College of Engineering must demonstrate prior experience in the desired concentration area to be considered for enrollment.
