Bridge communication and connection

Northeastern University’s Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology—Connect program empowers you to profoundly impact society without having prior experience in communication sciences and disorders or speech-language pathology. You’ll help transform lives by enabling autistic children to communicate effectively, assisting adolescents in overcoming speech dysfluency in classrooms, and supporting stroke survivors in resuming daily activities.

Since 1965, our speech-language pathology program has maintained the highest professional standards. Our comprehensive program emphasizes evidence-based practice, teamwork, and interdisciplinary approaches to complex communication disorders. You’ll collaborate with faculty and clinical supervisors on campus and at affiliated world-renowned educational and medical institutions throughout the region.

  • During the first semester, you’ll complete prerequisite bridge coursework online by selecting at least three of five available 3-credit courses. Academic advisors will help you choose which courses to take based on your remaining requirements. You may take up to all five courses if necessary. To advance to the fall semester, students must earn a grade of “B” or better in all bridge courses.
  • Experience real-world patient interaction with our on-campus speech-language clinic.
  • After graduation, students are eligible for their state educator licensure requirements for speech-language pathology and to begin their clinical fellowship. Prospective and current students can visit the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association website, which provides state-specific information regarding licensure throughout the United States.

MS in Speech-Language Pathology graduates can find rewarding careers in:
