Getting started

U.S. citizens should first consider starting their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the first step toward receiving financial support from the federal government.

Next, all students should visit our Student Financial Services (SFS) website for more details on current tuition costs, aid opportunities, and how to apply. Tuition and fees vary based on the program and may change yearly.

For additional questions, connect with an enrollment counselor who can help you evaluate the costs associated with your program of choice.

For information regarding tuition and fees for students studying at Canadian campuses, visit the Student Accounts Canada website.

Assistantships

Assistantships are another great way to engage with your field of research as you learn. Certain assistantship opportunities will be arranged upon acceptance of your application; other program opportunities might be awarded at any time.

These opportunities include:

  • Research assistantships (RA) are funded through externally arranged grants—RAs research with the support of regular faculty members.
  • Teaching assistantships (TA) are ideal for students who wish to engage with the broader student body, including undergraduates. TAs help faculty members with coursework and instruction.
  • Stipend graduate assistantships include a stipend, tuition remission, and health plans for eligible doctoral students.
