Launch your career in AI

Northeastern’s Align Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence lets you launch your AI career from any background. You’ll begin with a two-semester introduction that provides the foundational knowledge and tools you’ll need to succeed as you earn your degree. You’ll then move into your master’s curriculum, engaging in coursework that covers topics including machine learning, vision, intelligent interaction, robotics/agent systems, and knowledge management and reasoning.

Our program allows you to approach AI responsibly with a human-centric focus. You can study full time or part time and boost your resumé with an optional paid four- to eight-month co-op or internship—graduating in as little as 2.5 years with the expertise to lead and build real-world AI.

This concentration is offered by Khoury College of Computer Sciences:

Machine learning (ML): Design solutions for health, finance, and beyond. Build models that predict hospital admissions or detect fraud. In advanced ML and natural language processing, you’ll learn to handle complex data and deploy ethical, resilient AI systems.

Master core AI methods

Understand representations, algorithms, and techniques used across the AI industry and academia, and be able to apply and evaluate them in applications as well as develop your own.

Design intelligent agents

Understand the processes an AI agent must perform, from perceiving the environment to making decisions on how to act, and build and evaluate the technology used to perform these processes.

Apply machine learning for data inference

Use machine learning to draw inferences and automate AI systems and component development.

Engineer human–AI collaboration

Know how to integrate humans into AI systems, and improve system or human performance. Fully understand ethical concerns in developing AI.
