Khoury College of Computer Sciences
- Machine learning: Gain hands-on experience developing and applying advanced machine learning models to solve real-world problems across industries.
- Robotics and agent-based systems: Develop intelligent robots and autonomous agents, focusing on automation, interaction, and smart system design.
College of Engineering
- Computer vision: Apply AI and ML to advanced visual tasks, including image restoration, rendering, navigation, and pattern classification.
Bouvé College of Health Sciences
- Health data: Apply AI and ML to real-world health challenges, working with clinical, public health, and wellness data to build equitable and responsible health technologies.
- Opportunities for paid, full-time co-ops or internships with Khoury College’s industry partner organizations such as: Amazon, Allen Institute for AI, Roche/Genentech, Goldman Sachs, Nok Nok Labs, Sway AI, U.S. Soccer Federation, and more
- The research facilities and network of an R1 institution in AI, a key area of study for Khoury College, including the Institute for Experiential AI, AI Ethics Advisory Board, the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Action Alliance, and more
- In-depth knowledge and experience in technical, interdisciplinary, and ethical aspects of AI
- Career pathways for aspiring AI specialists, strategists/developers, and researchers/doctoral candidates
- Customize your studies with full-time or part-time options
This degree prepares you for leadership roles in AI through collaborative projects, research, and the real-time challenges of corporate partners. Northeastern is a leader in co-ops and internships—taking a fully experiential approach to AI. You’ll learn to develop programs that solve problems like:
- Bringing a voice to the speech-impaired
- Driving advances in climate resilience
- Predicting disease outbreaks
- Removing algorithmic biases in financial services and FinTech
- Increasing ethical AI implementation to assess cybersecurity risks
You can opt to include a four- to eight-month full-time, paid co-op in AI as part of your program. We partner with top companies, creative startups, and nonprofits across industries. You may also be able to build a co-op with your current employer.
